germany’s great poet johann wolfgang von goethe declared pentecost “das liebliche fest” – the lovely feast.

“pfingsten, das liebliche fest”, speaks of pentecost as a time of greening and blooming in fields, woods, hills, mountains, bushes and hedges, of birds singing new songs, meadows sprouting fragrant flowers, and of festive sunshine gleaming from the skies and coloring the earth.

hope

the grass in our garden was not as green as it was on the other side. so we sowed some new seeds in the brown earth, but wow what a shock, dirt everywhere. here it is, the green hope. there will be grass as green as it is on the other side….i hope.
