This week we got the assignment at the Pure Photo Workshop to photograph movement and water. Although I had some trouble with my camera and I couldn’t find the thing you screw on your camera to use the tripod and the weather was gloomy again, I had much photo fun this week.
I took photos on 3 days this week, but the photos are randomly put down here.
On the first day I made photos of the glass with water. It was good to practice with manual focussing and it was fun to throw in the amethyst stones and see what the effect was on the photo. Timing was not easy at all (I can use some more practice on that hihi). I used an external flash to get enough light, but using that flash brings unhandy things like limited SS (not faster than 1/250). I like the middle photo with the stones the best I think because of the calm look and the wave in the water.
The second day my daughter rode her unicycle while I made some photos. That day I didn’t have the screw thing for the camera to use the tripod and my camera was not autofocussing on the lens I wanted to use. I don’t know why, but it looks like it is fixed now. I’m not really happy with the outcome, but you can see the difference between the SS very good.
The last day we went to a small lake. I tried different SS and hoped to capture the mood around water. I made a short video there too. We all enjoyed the visit although it was quite cold. I think I like the hair photo and the jump photo for the movement assignment best and I like the one where my daughter walks slowly in the water for the water assignment best.

My Style:
For the water assignment I wanted to try more settings, but I didn’t have enough time. I like to take some rain shots too someday. Since it is raining all the time here I will get enough opportunities :).

Jane….ik geniet van al je prachtige foto’s. Geweldig. Dank je voor je reactie en ik ga zeker experimenteren later.Ik geloof dat ik ALLES even mooi vind. Dat haar…..dat water, het springen. De stilte….en de beweging samen, waardoor de stilte nog stiller wordt. Dag, Madelief.

Ik probeer dit weekend weer in te halen dus kom maar door met die regen 😉

ps. ik laat steeds de resultaten zien zonder tussenstappen en ik gebruik ook weinig tekst maar zo past het geloof ik beter bij mijn blog/bij mij
Al je foto’s zijn mooi! Die foto van het haar, zo bijzonder. Het is alsof er zowel heel veel rust zit in de foto, als heel veel beweging en onrust. Heel sierlijk is de foto. Wat staat het water er steeds scherp op, zeker bij de SS 4000 foto. Je tweede foto met de amethist is inderdaad heel leuk. De combi weer, van beweging en rust.
Wow wat heb je deze opdracht super gedaan Jane! Ik ben echt jaloers op je foto’s! Dat was ik altijd al ;))) maar nu ik weet HOE moeilijkhet is nóg meer….

Those are all great photos! I like that middle glass shot, too! You did a great job with the slow shutter speed! The last photo is wonderful! You caught a great moment and it is so your style! 🙂

Wat een mooie serie foto’s! Je laat zo heel goed zien wat er gebeurd met verschillende instellingen op je camera!
Wat een mooie foto’s en wat laat je het verschil goed zien. De foto bij my style en het glas met de twee stenen erin vind ik erg mooi. Wat mooi om de bubbels te zien in het water. En je springende kinderen… prachtig!
